Let's call it what it is.

Most incubators are a scam.

They take 5–10% of your company. In return, they give you:

  • A "mentor" who shows up once a month (if you're lucky)
  • A Notion template with "resources"
  • A demo day where no real investors show up
  • A pat on the back

Then they disappear. Your equity is gone. You got nothing.

And they do it again with the next batch of hopeful founders.

The Math of a Scam Incubator

Let's say you raise a seed round at a ₹5 crore valuation. That 5% equity is worth ₹25 lakhs.

What did you get for ₹25 lakhs?

A few hours of "mentorship." A deck template you could have downloaded for free. A demo day that didn't close a single term sheet.

You got robbed.

And the incubator knows it. They don't care. They're playing volume. 100 startups at 5% each. Even if 90 fail, they still own pieces of 100 companies.

They didn't earn that equity. They extracted it.

How to Spot a Scam Incubator

1. They don't take risk.

If they take equity but don't invest cash, they're not aligned. Real risk means writing a check.

2. Mentors are "advisors" who never exited.

Ask: Has your mentor ever sold a company? Raised from top VCs? Built something from zero? If not, they're just a talker.

3. They have no skin in the game.

If their revenue comes from government grants or corporate sponsors, not from your success, they don't need you to win. They just need you to show up.

4. Their alumni are silent.

Go find founders who went through their program. Ask: "Did it help?" If they hesitate, run.

What Real Incubation Looks Like

Real incubation means:

Equity alignment.

The incubator only wins when you win. That means they take meaningful risk. They introduce you to real investors. They open their network.

Mentors who have done it.

Not "ecosystem enablers." People who have taken money off the table. Who have been in your seat and survived.

Tools that actually work.

Not a Google Doc. Real software for readiness, financials, pitch analysis, validation. Tools that prepare you for due diligence.

Handholding until capital comes.

Not a 3-month program. Real support until you raise your first institutional round.

How Marwar Mentors Is Different

We take minimal equity — not 5 or 10%.

Part of that goes to your mentors. They earn it. They don't get paid unless you raise, exit, or IPO.

We don't have a "program." We have a system:

  • Three mentors (one relationship, two domain)
  • Six proprietary tools (readiness, financials, pitch, validation, intern pool, matchmaking)
  • Handholding for grants, angels, VCs, bridge rounds, acquisition talks. We don't disappear.

We don't give you templates. We don't run demo days for show.

We build startups that actually move forward.

Stop giving equity to scammers. Work with people who earn it.
